Giving & Thanks [Week 3]
When we put others needs before our own we are able to see just how fortunate we really are. This week we talked about putting others first in order to capture an attitude of giving and thanks.

When we are grateful for the things God has given us we are generous! This week we looked at the life of Boaz and how he was blessed because of his generous heart.

Giving & Thanks [Week 1]
During a time of year when it is so easy to sucked in to the Gimme Gimme's we took some time to remember all the blessings God has given us!
Be grateful! Everything we have is given from God alone so we will never run out of reasons to thank him for his many blessings!

Money Wise- Week 4 [Spend]
Once we have learned the basics of money, we must then move on to the fun part--- SPENDING!!! When we are diligent in pleasing God even through the way we spend we will be blessed.
This was such a great series for our kids! Even after the series was over I was hanging out with one of our kids mom and we asked the girl to help us set up for a party we were having. I thanked her for helping out and working so hard to which she replied-- "if you don't work you don't eat!" Practical principles impacting kids at a young age! My fav!

Money Wise- week 1 [Earn]
During the month of October our pastor is doing a stewardship series with the adults---- so I thought- "Why not teach the kiddos a thing or two about stewardship?!?!" And so I went on to write money wise- each week we will uncover the basics of finances and how we can please God with ours!

Purpose in a Nutshell
Hey there-
My name is Becky Herlihy. I am a children's Pastor in California absolutely living the dream. I have been in this position for 1 year and have learned so much in that 365 days its insane! After completing a degree in Urban Ministries from a Bible College I was ready to take on the world-- but had no idea how the world was about to take me on!
One of the biggest things I have learned since entering into the field of full-time vocational ministry is: I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING! Shocker right? But once I got over that shock, I knew it was high time I started gathering resources on how to equip this upcoming generation with the knowledge of God and scripture that would help them to turn the world upside down!
The first couple of months I had the attitude- "yeahhhh, I got this! I have a 4 year degree that says I KNOW how to teach the Bible, COME ON SOMEBODY!" yeah..... as I said this only lasted a couple months. I came up with a couple Kid's sermon series.... but I was having trouble connecting with my audience, not to mentioned stressed beyond belief because I had no clue what I was doing!
Next, I purchased some AMAZING curriculum that allowed me learn what some good techniques are in relating with my young listeners and how to challenge them to go go deeper in God. I was able to learn a lot from this on how to format the stuff that was in my heart to write in a way that the kids would be able to connect with.
This brings us up to now and my latest adventure. Yes, I have picked up that proverbial pen once again to start cranking out some new kid's series! God has put it on my heart to write-- I'm not the best at it...YET... but I'm constantly learning and growing. With this blog I would like to send my latest material out to cyberspace and hopefully help out some new ministers like myself who find themselves in a position having no clue what to do week after week. (let me tell you--- its pretty intimidating!)
So, I hope you enjoy and that through this you might be inspired!
